White Bread (Nadine Partridge)


  • 3 heaping tablespoons of yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 4 1/2 cups hot water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 scant tablespoons salt
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 16 cups flour white
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  1. Sprinkle yeast in 1 cup warm water, mix, and dissolve.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix 4 1/2 cups of hot water, brown sugar, salt, and oil. Mix together.
  3. Mix in 8 cups of flour. Add yeast and mix.
  4. Add remaining 8 cups of flour. Then, knead the bread, putting the butter on your hands and mixing it into the dough.
  5. Makes great bread loaves or rolls.
  6. Shape into whichever shape you are making. Put it into/onto the pan. Let it rise until it doubles. (1-2 hours). Bake at 350 degrees from 25-30 mins.
